There have been so many wonderful Tree's, Mantels, Banisters and DIY projects that I find myself glued to the computer trying to enjoy them ALL!
I wanted to give a shout out to Rene @ Cottage and Vine...I won a giveaway from her! I am so excited, I won her Mood Board and a fabric giveaway from her sponsor Dizzy Tulip....I feel like it is Christmas already! HAHA!

Thanks Rene, you are so talented and inspire us so much here in blogland!
Speaking of her inspiration! Have you seen her tutorials on her Magnolia Wreath and her Boxwood Wreath, great work Rene! It is this kind of inspiration that got my creative juices flowing and gave me an idea on re purposing an old wreath into a new wreath for Christmas.......Here is the finished product but you will not believe how it started out!
It was my last years Easter Wreath, it started out looking very "Easterery", NOT even sure if that is a word but you get the picture!....I removed the Easter eggs/moss and bagged them up to use again.
Then, once again, I hit up my Leyland Cypress trees for some greenery. Placed it in a circular direction around the wreath and secured it with hot glue......EASY! Even a crafty challenged person like me can do this! I think my favorite part is it's free...Boy, am I glad I planted those Leyland Cypress!
Thanks Cypress Trees...Momma loves you!
Here's one more look at this "new" re purposed Christmas Wreath...That blank spot on my hutch needed something.....Hope you enjoyed! Since this is a post about "re purposing"...See that glitter bunting, I bought it here for my Halloween mantel but it is getting double duty this year!
Thanks again Rene for inspiring us to be creative and use what we have!
Mark your calendars and don't miss her....

Great great great Job! I love the movement you have given it by twirling the fresh greenery along with the twigs....now I willhave to dig around to see if I can do this to a twig wreath here!

I've always wondered how to do this, thanks for the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this!! I wish I had a cypress tree - all we have is ugly Texas pine trees. love the bunting as well
ReplyDeleteOooh, love how you followed the organic lines of the original wreath. It's got such a nice rustic feel and it wouldn't be too Christmasy to leave up after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteAwesome wreath! SO pretty! Yep, you are definitely lucky that you planted those pretty trees. The "spooky" glitter butning fits right in for Christmas! DOuble duty = awesome ;)
