THANKS...plus a WISTERIA like furniture reveal!

Thanks so much Blogger Friends for your sweet comments about my ROAD BLOCKS! Obviously, we all  have those feelings from time to time!!! I am happy to announce...I think I crawled out from under that ROCK!!! Not only, am I inspired daily, by all your CREATIVE MINDS but I am also inspired by your humor, support and concern for fellow bloggers!!! Speaking of inspiration.....
I wanted to share with you a project I was also working on during the whole bookcase fiasco!
Here is a peek..

This little beauty is a product of the daily inspiration I get here in BLOGLAND.....I am convinced we feed off each other.......One persons creativity, breeds creativity in someone else! Anyone agree?  My inspirational THANK YOU for this project goes out to.....
Rie @ Home and Harmony and Amanda @ Amanda Carol at Home....Rie revealed to us her pickled wood floors and Amanda stained an entry chest...both of these projects made my heart skip a beat or two......I was very intrigued and started thinking how I could combine both of these techniques and create a unique looking piece of furniture.....Thanks Ladies for your inspiration!

Here is how I transformed this $9 thrift store vintage table using a white pickleing product and a dark wood stain into a "Wisteria" like side table.......

1st Step...I stripped off the old finish with CITRISTRIP, using a regular scrapper, blade scraper and steel wool. Then sanded with 120 grit sand paper.

2nd Step...Applied Min Wax Water Base Wood Stain*Pickle White Wash Formula* (@HD)...with a sponge brush and then wiped off excess with a rag.
3rd Step......Hand sanded edges with 320 grit sand paper. Then saturated a rag with Min Wax Pecan Wood Stain (@HD)...Applied only to the top of furniture and front of drawers and at the area where the drawer pulls go. To seal the table I used a brush on clear matte poly sealer, also a Min Wax product.
Finally, I drilled holes into the front of the drawers and added new drawers pulls from Hobby Lobby...Yeah, they were 50% off this week!

Here is what she looks like finished......

Thanks again to Rie and Amanda for their inspiration....Give them both a visit, I know you will enjoy reading their blogs!!!
Hope you enjoyed this "Wisteria" like furniture reveal!
Have a great rest of the week and enjoy your weekend!  Hopefully, after the weekend I will have made some new progress in the CLOFFICE......See you back here on Monday and THANKS for stopping by!
Join me at these parties.....

  9. oh my gosh!!!!!!! I absolutely love it!!! That is EXACTLY what im trying to do right now to a large dresser I got from GoodWill. But I totally didnt even know there was a white pickling stain! grrr. well I made my own- I actually used the white chalk paint watered down. I applied it with a sponge wiped it off then applied a weathered gray stain on top of that. I've only done 3 of the drawers-so Im thinking I may run to HD and get that pickling stain & try it on the other drawers to see if i like it better!! hmmmmmm
Thanks for you shout-out too!!!! Your so sweet!

  17. Wow! It looks like you came flying out of your creative road block. This turned out gorgeous! I would choose this piece over anything from Wisteria any day. I so agree too that we all feed each other in positive ways. My creativity has definitely been turned up since I have found so many amazing women in the blogosphere. Only problem, sometimes I would rather be here checking out everyone's work than doing my own! Better sign off now, work is calling....

  20. whay do you think would happen if you dont strip your piece first? i have an old kitchen or garden table with a wood top and im trying to do something worn looking (to the legs and base not the top) to it but dont want to strip it. it isnt chippy because ive sanded but there is latex on it. thanks

Creativity does breed creativity. I get almost all my ideas from other bloggers. I might put my own spin on a project, but the original inspiration almost always comes form another source.
