My lovely backsplash before we started the kitchen makeover....I do not miss it, I'm kind of glad it is gone!
I want to thank all my readers for all your sweet comments about my kitchen makover....I have had fun doing this project but it has made it more fun sharing it with all of you!....Every post, was like I was inviting you all over a Diet DP and giving you a tour.....Thanks for the support and interest! If anyone needs a reminder of what the oak looked like before....here's a picture.....After my last post, I only had one wall of cabinets to tackle......If you remember,
I decided, and Hubby was willing....to add a open box of shelves over the refrigerator....I will share the plans we used for this project....if any of you want to try it.....Also, please email me if you have any questions about how we did this.
Here is Hubby building the box and here it is installed and painted! I really like this extra storage!
Last wall of cabinets finished!!!
I got a new Microwave......now if Sherry @ Design Indulgence can get her friend Angie to come to Dallas and find me a stove....(she has incredible Craigslist deal finding skills)...I'll be one happy camper!
I also added a new light....$4.99 at a thrift store....All it needed was spray paint......Krylon oil rubbed bronze.
Thanks for stopping by! Happy blogging!

Lisa your kitchen has turned out amazing! It is just gorgeous and I love the box that your hubby built over the frig! I bet you are just loving it and I love the wax paper/paper towel dispenser, that would come in handy!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!!
Can't wait to see what you are up to next!
Perfect. Love, love those butcher block counters I spy. And hubby deserves something good, those shelves are too beautiful. Glad to see you're feeling better and up to posting!
ReplyDeleteGreat Job! It looks wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous kitchen, great job!!! I'd be cooking and baking up a storm in there:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!! I love the open shelves you built above the refrigerator and that paper towel dispenser is one of my favorites too. You did a quality job and should be so proud to show it off. Thanks for sharing it. Is your hubby loving it too?
ReplyDeleteI *just* bought today that same light fixture in brass for my laundry room. Its get some ORB spray paint too. Kindred spirits, I tell ya!
Awesome!! Can you even handle your happiness when you walk in the room?? Where did you find the paper towel dispenser? Lovely find. I wish I lived closer so I could actually enjoy that diet DP with you!
ReplyDeleteAbby
P.S. I want to know what the hubby thinks too.
Looks gorgeous! Hey for a new stove, try Lowe's scratch n'dent. If you find one you like, ask to see the appliance manager, then tell them you really like the stove, and can they do any better on the price? Cause you would love to take it home right now. 9 times out of 10 they will drop the price quite a bit. I did that with a toilet, it wasn't priced so I asked and got a brand new, never used toilet for $25! It was originally a $300 toilet, so I was happy!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog via Abby from A Delightful Design and I love it! I'm a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is gorgeous! The vintage paper towel holder is my favorite! And the light fixture!
I was reading your About section and saw that your boys are at U of A - my husband's brother is there too, it's his last semester! Small world :)
Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous!! I am trying desperately to talk my hubby into a kictchen re-do...
You should so come to the ATL just for Scott's...I ran into Sherry from Design Indulgence last time I was there---she is the sweetest, prettiest little thing! Scott's is overwhelming...but in a good way! You need to let me in on the good shopping in your neck of the woods bc I'll be there in November for my Brother's wedding :)
It looks great!
ReplyDeleteLisa...wow a new kitchen...there is nothing like it!!! My microwave was broken for 6 months...we finally had to bite the bullet and buy a new one. I did not get the deal that Angie got...that is for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving your kitchen. And that vintage paper towel dispenser. And the butlers pantry, and the light. Oh look I love all of it. Well done to the 2 of you.

If you're not too tired, would you mind doing my kitchen next :) What a fabulous job you and the hubby did. I'm curious about the backsplash. Did you have to remove the tile before applying the beadboard? Our kitchen has the same tile. The previous owners went to the expense to add granite countertops but didn't give much thought to the backsplash. We are scared to remove it for fear of cracking the granite. I love the look of beadboard! Your entire makeover is just beautiful!

Hi Lisa...I found you At The Picket Fence. I'm a new follower now. Love these shelves over your refrig. What a great idea. Do you mind me asking what kind of refrig. you have? Most of the refrigerators available now are too big for my opening but your's looks like it might be a bit smaller. Thanks for sharing. Come visit me if you have time.
